Do you know a newbie who needs to get nerdy? Pass along an invitation to NewBCamp, the unconference that’s geared towards newbies and is all about tearing down the barriers to understanding technology.

NewBCamp is an unconference, which means it’s a collaborative effort between all the people involved. There are no rockstars at NewBCamp, everyone is equally welcome to ask questions and/or answer them.

What will I learn at NewBCamp? Topics are organized into three tracks plus a bonus Basics, but don’t let those limit you:

Basics – simple guides to any tech-related topic, such as Browsing the Internet, Email 101, or Using Desktop Applications

Social Media – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus – how does it impact me and how I can make use of them for my business?

Web Development – for the aspiring geeks among us, the fundamentals of popular Web Development technologies such as HTML, CSS, PHP, WordPress

Hardware – ever wonder how a computer works? find out more about the stuff that technology is made of.

The cost of a ticket to NewBCamp supports Free Geek Providence, a non-profit that helps the needy get nerdy by refurbishing and donating computers. Make sure to meet the FGPVD volunteers when you spot them working behind the scenes.
